Using Forums to Instill Better Habits

Using Forums to Instill Better Habits

I often think about Forums as a way to instill habits into people’s lives that they might not otherwise do. Habits such as self-reflection, journaling, goal setting, asking better questions, coaching, being vulnerable, and so on. As I continue to evolve the concept of Forums, I always relook at each section of the agenda to see if there is something else we could exchange that would instill a better habit. I encourage each group to do the same. Maybe you all want to eat healthier, so add that as part of your monthly update. Maybe you want to practice expressing more gratitude, so replace the “Closing Thought” with “Closing Gratitude” and have each person write down five things they are grateful for each day.

The point is that the Forum structure that I give you is meant to be a template in which you and your group use to instill the habits you want to cultivate. Don’t be afraid to try new ideas out and mix it up as the group’s needs evolve over time.
