Because Forums typically only meet once a month, many things happen throughout the month that members might not know about with each other.
To build anticipation for the Forum meeting and the Monthly Updates, try out doing a “Teaser Update” before the meeting.
A Teaser Update is a one-sentence update to the group that hints at something that’s happened over the past month that you plan to talk about during the Forum meeting. Here are some examples:
- “After 10 years, the biggest headache of my life is finally over. I am ready to move on.”
- “I am digging through my couch looking for coins because my biggest bill is coming due in two months.”
- “I’m already 30 days ahead of my goal!”
The goal is to give just enough info to get the group excited for your Monthly Update. Try it out with your group and see how it increases the energy going into the next meeting.
