A great coaching session for a presentation is about getting the person to move from talking about the outer situation of the facts to the inner feelings of self-reflection and struggle. Less about what happened and more about why what happened matters.
Getting to the “Inner” will help you to dig into the deeper core issues that are going on. This will help you, as the coach, to answer one of the two key questions you are trying to answer by the end of the coaching session:
“What’s the core challenge you are facing?”
