10 Questions To Use During Presentation Coaching

Successful coaching comes from asking the right questions at the right time. Over the years, after coaching 100s of people for their presentations, I’ve built up a list of questions that I often use to keep the conversation going and dig deeper. Here are 10 of those questions, and I’ll share more over time.

  • Tell me more about the background of this situation?
  • What led up to this point?
  • What do you think is the root cause of this situation?
  • How much of this situation is personal vs professional vs family?
  • What part of this situation is most confusing to you? Why?
  • Have you ever experienced something like this in other parts of your life? What was it?
  • How might your own actions add to the difficulty of this situation? What part of this situation can you own yourself?
  • How does the situation make you feel when you think and talk about it?
  • Give me three feelings you have around this situation. Describe each feeling and why you chose that feeling.
  • If nothing changes with the situation, what happens 3 months, 6 months, 1 year from now?
